About Us

Allegany Law Foundation, Inc.’s mission is to provide quality legal services to low-income clients and seniors in Allegany County. Our goal is to increase the access to the justice system for the under-represented and to support and further pro bono efforts of the legal community.  This is accomplished by providing services through several projects including pro bono attorney referrals; Family Law Self-Help Centers; the Judicare Project; senior legal assistance funded by Human Resources Development Commission through the Title III-B program; and the Foreclosure Prevention Project.  We collaborate with other community partners in Allegany County such as Maryland Legal Aid, Human Resources Development Commission, Allegany County Department of Social Services and the Family Resource Crisis Center to supplement their services for low-income individuals.  Our program was founded by the Allegany County Bar Association in 1997 and is supported by its members who provide direct legal resources, donations, fundraising, and administrative services.
